Arvid Anderson has lived in the Gig Harbor area for the last 20 years and has his studio on Fox Island. He works in multi media including sculpture, but specializes in monotypes. He considers himself an experimentalist and uses various methods and materials to create each unique image. He favors strong colors and landscapes influenced by the marine atmosphere of Western Washington and the dry scapes of Eastern Washington. His wooden masks incorporate natural materials with themes indigenous to the Northwest. Arvid is a member of the Peninsula Art League and the Open Studio Tour of Gig Harbor.
