Impressive Blooms: Gelli and Letterpress Printing - Jessica Spring and Lea Basile-Lazarus

Join us for an introduction to two printmaking techniques: Gelli print and letterpress. As participants you will create prints inspired by the season. Gelli prints are monoprints utilizing acrylic paint and natural objects or found materials to create layers and textures. This base can be used for a print on its own or can be combined with the letterpress print process, as you’ll experience in this workshop.

For the letterpress printing, we will be using an antique letter press incorporating text set from vintage wood and metal type. Opportunities to further embellish the work with collage and painting allow participants to create their own unique prints.
