The Pacific Northwest is my inspiration and watercolor in my medium I consider myself a regional painter of local landscapes. En plein aire painting is my preference as I love being outdoors especially in the summer when I lead a group of local painters where we paint in the local parks, wineries and on the Gig Harbor Garden Tour. Favorite subjects are found at the coast and I enjoy painting things that most would consider unpainterly like encrusted buoys and wrecked boats in a boatyard. My education includes a BA in Art Educ and while living in Oregon I became a member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon. I have also taken classes from a variety of nationally know watercolorists. As retirees we moved to Gig Harbor to be near our boat where I also joined PAL and began entering shows and volunteering. I have been affiliated with several galleries and am currently participating in the Open Studio Tour.
