Bringing Community to the Artist and Art to the Community

Peninsula Art League Sponsorship Tiers 2026

As we celebrate a milestone anniversary with our 40th Summer Arts Festival, your patronage and
support enables PAL to offer the regional community a variety of events and creative opportunities
throughout the year. These include: support for the annual Summer Art Festival at Sehmel Homestead
Park, the 24th National Fine Art Show at the Gig Harbor Vintage Aero Museum, the ongoing showcase
of PAL Member Shows and community art work on the Peninsula Art League wall at the PenMet Parks
Recreation Center, our FREE and open monthly meetings with guest speakers, the FREE monthly
newsletter, and our regional PAL Scholarship Program for high school seniors interested in pursuing
a career in the arts.

Your sponsorship allows the Peninsula Art League to promote artists and creatives by providing visible
platforms for them to share their work and offer regional opportunities to the community-at-large to
participate, learn, and experience the arts.

Volunteer Vern Pavilion at Sehmel Homestead Park

A Summer Art Festival Exclusive

Our Summer Members’ Show promises to be a seasonal celebration of the unmatched creativity of a vibrant mix of artists working in a wide range of mediums who make up the Peninsula Art League. Exhibited inside the Volunteer Vern Pavilion, this dedicated Member Show will be a major highlight of the 40th Summer Art Festival, showcasing our Members’ indoor exhibition in addition to 100+ regional community booth artists.

This year our juror is Christine Buchanan, a renowned Gig Harbor sculptor and Fine Arts Department Chair at Peninsula High School. Christine’s unique perspective is deeply rooted in visual storytelling and a profound connection to the natural world.

Here is a chance to step inside the pavilion to discover a beautifully curated collection that represents the heart and soul of our league.

Our juror will be awarding Best of Show, 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place and three Honorable Mention winners.

Summer Art Fair attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite for the People’s Choice Awards.

Juror Christine Buchanan

Christine has been at Peninsula High School for more than 30 years as an instructor of Sculpture, Pottery, Warm and Cold Glass, and Printmaking. She is also the Chair of The Fine and Performing Arts Department of Peninsula High School.

She graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and received her Masters at Lesley University in Teaching Through the Arts.

Her art has been in many exhibitions and private art collections.
