I've always had a deep desire to make things, rooted in curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. Before I throw anything away, I often ask, How can I use this? I collect found items from around the house and drag them through paint, making bold, messy, scribbly marks across the canvas. Those first marks spark the next, a vibrant color, a layer of texture, a surprising shape. I paint intuitively, my process mirrors how I tend my garden: pairing unexpected colors, layering textures, and letting things grow where they may. I once heard someone say, 'I never thought purple and orange went together until I saw a sunset.' That idea guides my work. God's creation is my greatest inspiration, reminding me that beauty often comes from the unexpected. In my studio, time seems to pause. Looking out at my rose garden fills me with gratitude and joy. Painting connects me to my faith, to myself, and to the beauty around me. With every piece, I hope the joy I feel in creating becomes the joy in the seeing.
