Gig Harbor Vintage Aero Museum

PAL invites national, regional, and local artists to submit their work to be juried for exhibition by notable museum curators Jessica Wilks, Tacoma Art Museum and Greg Robinson, Bainbridge Island Museum of Art. They will be awarding cash prizes totaling more than $9,000.

This year’s Show is to be held from November 14th, 2026, through December 2nd, 2026, at the NEA award-winning Gig Harbor Vintage Aero Museum.  The Museum is a unique and well-designed venue, founded by Bill Juranich and Bob & Marilyn Juranich, and serves as a vibrant gathering space showcasing amazing vintage aircraft, and now, with their partnership with the Peninsula Art League, a welcoming venue for artists and art lovers alike.

Entry Fees:
PAL Members: $45 for one entry; $55 for two entries;
$65 for three entries.
Non-members: $55 for one entry; $65 for two entries;
$75 for three entries.

See Accepted 2D and 3D Art Mediums:

  • Including the frame, artwork must be a minimum of 12” on one side, height or width. Including the frame, artwork should not exceed 2,200 total square inches in size.
  • For photography only, size must not exceed 24” x 24”.
  • All 2D art must be sturdily framed and ready to hang including D-rings (no saw-tooth hangers) and hanging wire. The hanging wire should be positioned approximately 1/3 of the way down from the top and be taut so the 2-D works remain flush with the wall. Larger and heavier pieces of art should use appropriately sized “D” rings with sturdy wire. No wire should extend above the top of the piece. 
  • Gallery wrapped canvas does not require framing but must be wired to hang.

The National Fine Art Show (NFAS), is Peninsula Art League’s (PAL’s) prestigious juried art exhibition celebrating excellence in two- and three-dimensional artwork and photo/digital art showcasing local, regional and national artists.

Juror Jessica Wilks

Director of Curatorial, Tacoma Art Museum

Wilks serves as the Director of Curatorial at Tacoma Art Museum and brings more than 20 years of museum experience to the role. She leads the curatorial team and guides the development of exhibitions, acquisitions, and long-term collection strategy. Her work centers on advancing Tacoma Art Museum’s commitment to the art and artists of the Pacific Northwest and the broader western region.

A Summer Art Festival Exclusive

Our Summer Members’ Show promises to be a seasonal celebration of the unmatched creativity of a vibrant mix of artists working in a wide range of mediums who make up the Peninsula Art League. Exhibited inside the Volunteer Vern Pavilion, this dedicated Member Show will be a major highlight of the 40th Summer Art Festival, showcasing our Members’ indoor exhibition in addition to 100+ regional community booth artists.

This year our juror is Christine Buchanan, a renowned Gig Harbor sculptor and Fine Arts Department Chair at Peninsula High School. Christine’s unique perspective is deeply rooted in visual storytelling and a profound connection to the natural world.

Here is a chance to step inside the pavilion to discover a beautifully curated collection that represents the heart and soul of our league.

Juror Christine Buchanan

Christine has been at Peninsula High School for more than 30 years as an instructor of Sculpture, Pottery, Warm and Cold Glass, and Printmaking. She is also the Chair of The Fine and Performing Arts Department of Peninsula High School.

She graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and received her Masters at Lesley University in Teaching Through the Arts.

Her art has been in many exhibitions and private art collections.
