Carolyn Hoebelheinrich
Glass, Mosaics

My work in glass and mixed media Mosaics is a celebration of the natural world, specifically influenced by my love of flowers, birds, and the beauty found in nature. I primarily create representational pieces that reflect my deep appreciation for organic shapes, vibrant color, and the quiet strength of living things.Glass is central to my process—it allows me to “paint” with light, depth, and texture. Each piece of glass brings a unique quality to the work, whether reflective, translucent, or opaque. These shifting surface qualities create a dynamic visual experience that changes with the viewer’s perspective and the light in the space. I often incorporate other materials as well, building layered surfaces that mirror the complexity and richness of the environments that inspire me.I approach my work with the hope that it conveys to the viewer that joy and appreciation of the natural world.
