Veteran, Mom, Artist.
Like most artists, I always had a box of crayons or pencils in my hand as a child, and I remember the joy that all those colors brought - that hasn't changed! I always dabbled with painting and drawing, but life and jobs got in the way. In my 30's I moved next door to a fabulous and eccentric artist, and she reignited and encouraged my artistic drive by taking me to art openings, demos and workshops. My first love was watercolor, but recently have taken up colored pencil, pastel, and even the occasional acrylic.
If you have known me for 5 minutes or more, you realize that I am (proudly) the crazy cat lady and that is reflected in my work. Capturing a cat's mood and personality is always a challenge and a great reward. I also love florals and landscapes, and I have started to paint portraits, and it is a lot more fun than I expected! I belong to many local and regional art groups, and I am a signature member of the Northwest Pastel Society.
