Bringing Community to the Artist and Art to the Community

PLEIN AIR GROUP

The Plein Air Painting Group is a great way to stretch as an artist, meet other artists, and get outdoors to enjoy the season. There is no charge for joining the group. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun. It’s not necessary to be a PAL member to be part of the Plein Air group. Read more about the Plein Air group in this article by PAL member Carolyn Bick published in Gig HarborNOW from Summer 2024. Great story and photographs! Interested in participating? Want to know the entire schedule planned for the spring and summer?

Check the PAL calendar or contact Cathie Johnson at ccjohnson0306@gmail.com for more information.

THE URBAN SKETCHERS

Urban Sketchers meet year-round. The organization is dedicated to raising the artistic, storytelling and educational value of location drawing. It promotes its practice and connects people around the world who draw on location where they live and travel. Please contact Lori Johnson with any questions at lorijohnson@wavecable.com.

A Summer Art Festival Exclusive

Our Summer Members’ Show promises to be a seasonal celebration of the unmatched creativity of a vibrant mix of artists working in a wide range of mediums who make up the Peninsula Art League. This year our juror is Christine Buchanan, a renowned Gig Harbor sculptor and Fine Arts Department Chair at Peninsula High School. Christine’s unique perspective is deeply rooted in visual storytelling and a profound connection to the natural world.
