Bringing Community to the Artist and Art to the Community

Seeing Color in the Garden - Lorene Edwards Forkner

May 18, 2024

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

In this workshop, Lorene will talk about color, its role in a pleasing landscape, and how her daily practice, which she posts on Instagram, has introduced an expansiveness to the way she views the world.

Participants will do a hands-on exercise using watercolors to record colors found in fragments of the natural world, a blossom from the onsite Flower Bar, or a found leaf, or twig.

This is not botanical illustration class, but an exercise in learning to see natural color with fresh eyes and an opportunity to slow down, focus, and savor the season.

Materials provided, but feel free to bring your own watercolors, if desired. This workshop is open to all experience levels. Ages 18+.

THERE WILL BE A FLOWER BAR ONSITE BY LOCAL GIG HARBOR FLOWER FARMERS.
