ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Get inspired and learn about secret botanical meanings as you create a Language of Flowers arrangement.

Materials provided but feel free to bring your own vase, if desired.

This workshop is open to all experience levels. Ages 18+.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

TERESA RAO is an avid gardener and flower lover who in 2020 transitioned from a 16-year corporate training career to floristry with the launch of Belle Pétale. Her boutique floral design studio is located in Tacoma. Her floral arrangements are made to order and created with a custom palette of seasonal flowers sourced in the Pacific Northwest from local flower farms, to ensure the highest quality and unique variety. Belle Pétale incorporates in each design the elements that accentuate the French floral style: poetic, structure, shape, natural - with a polished presentation.

A Summer Art Festival Exclusive

Our Summer Members’ Show promises to be a seasonal celebration of the unmatched creativity of a vibrant mix of artists working in a wide range of mediums who make up the Peninsula Art League. Exhibited inside the Volunteer Vern Pavilion, this dedicated Member Show will be a major highlight of the 40th Summer Art Festival, showcasing our Members’ indoor exhibition in addition to 100+ regional community booth artists.

This year our juror is Christine Buchanan, a renowned Gig Harbor sculptor and Fine Arts Department Chair at Peninsula High School. Christine’s unique perspective is deeply rooted in visual storytelling and a profound connection to the natural world.

Here is a chance to step inside the pavilion to discover a beautifully curated collection that represents the heart and soul of our league.

Our juror will be awarding Best of Show, 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place and three Honorable Mention winners.

Summer Art Fair attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite for the People’s Choice Awards.
