In my watercolor painting I try to capture the interplay of sunlight and shadow in an array of local subjects, from coastal scenes to park settings to beloved locations. My style has been described as photorealistic, and I agree that I strive to reproduce in watercolor my chosen source photo. I consider my painting a success when it engenders something in the viewer. I can never predict what that response will be.
